The Snowman
The Snowman
The fattest snowman ever seen
Was built on Christmas Eve,
A scarf of green and Dickie bow
And a hat would you believe.
Two lumps of coal for his eyes
And a carrot for his nose,
We gave him twigs to use as arms
Set him nicely in a pose.
We called our snowman Charlie
After our great grandad,
Of him we all had memories
Some happy and some sad.
We were watching from our window
When a rabbit came to call
he’d sit there waiting patiently
for Charlies nose to fall.
He came back each day for a week
Just looking up to think,
The snow was thawing all around
Charlie began to shrink.
The thaw came thick, the rabbit too
Charlies head lay on the floor,
Nibble, nibble, crunch, crunch, crunch
And Charlie was no more.
